Aftercare Tips and Tricks
Tattoo Aftercare
Your new artwork needs protecting to allow it to heal properly and continue looking great for many years to come! The following is a set of guidelines to help you take care of your new tattoo:
- Keep the bandage on for a minimum of 1 hour, not exceeding 24 hours.
- If using saniderm or similar products, remove after 4 days.
- Remove bandage and gently wash tattoo with unscented anti-bacterial soap and water and be sure to pat dry. No need for any other bandages after it has been taken off. DO NOT scrub the area, pat dry only.
- Keep your tattoo out of the sun and do not submerge your tattoo in water until it's fully healed.
- After your tattoo is healed always remember sunblock when going into the sun to keep it from prematurely fading.
Laser Tattoo Removal Aftercare
The following is a set of guidelines to allow your laser tattoo removal to heal properly and to prevent any damage to the surrounding skin area:
- Gently wash with unscented anti-bacterial soap and water, be sure to pat dry. DO NOT scrub the area, pat dry only.
- Use unscented lotions/moisterizers (use as directed by your esthetician).
- Keep region out of direct sunlight as directed by your esthetician.
Facial Aftercare
Facials can provide a great benefit if proper aftercare is used. The following is a set of guidelines to help you care for your skin after a facial:
- Keep out of direct sunlight for the days following a facial (follow the recommendation of your esthetician).
- Continue to use the recommended moisturizers for your face.
- Your face may be sensitive depending on the facial, be sure to pat dry after washing (avoid scrubbing unless instructed to do so).
Permanent Makeup Aftercare
Permanent makeup will require similar aftercare to tattoos and laser removals. The following is a set of guidelines to help protect your skin and permanent makeup:
- Keep out of direct sunlight until your makeup is fully healed.
- Use unscented lotions/moisterizers (use as directed by your specialist).
- Your face may be sensitive depending on the makeup type, follow the advice of your permanent makeup specialist on how to treat the region.
- After your makeup is healed always remember sunblock when going into the sun to keep it from prematurely fading (speak to your makeup specialist, esthetician, or dermatologist for recommendations).
