Laser Tattoo Removals

The Vintage Tattoo Shoppe is a judgment-free space that delivers professional laser tattoo removal for every motivation. No matter your reason for laser tattoo removal, we can help. Our advanced laser effectively removes, fades, or alters unwanted tattoo ink while putting patient comfort first. We are excited to offer this advanced procedure at our tattoo studio featuring the Astanza Duality laser to help clients feel confident in their skin.

At The Vintage Tattoo Shoppe we pride ourselves in having some of Orlando’s greatest tattoo artists. But even the most talented tattoo artists have to alter their approach when doing a cover-up.  Cover-ups come with many limitations, especially if the original tattoo has tons of dense, black ink or is exceptionally large. To serve our clients better, we decided to add laser tattoo removal so we can fade and modify existing tattoos to ensure their cover-up is one they’ll love and never have to cover up again.

Advanced Laser Technology

The Astanza Duality is an industry-leading Q-switched Nd:YAG laser that safely shatters tattoo ink in the fewest sessions needed. This advanced laser uses light energy to safely penetrate through the epidermis and target ink particles in the dermis. The ink particles absorb the light energy and shatter into fragmented nanoparticles that the immune system then flushes out naturally. The Duality combines an ultra-short pulse duration, high peak power, and essential 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths to break down tattoo ink faster and with better results.

Widely regarded as the industry’s flagship system, the Duality laser is trusted by skilled tattoo artists, medical spas, top physicians, and leading tattoo removal clinics worldwide. Backed by Astanza, the world’s leader in lasers for laser tattoo removal, the Astanza Duality delivers unmatched results for all skin types.

The Duality produces an ultra-short pulse duration of 6000 picoseconds paired with high pulse energy to create intense peak power for optimal ink shattering on the most popular tattoo pigments. The Duality’s essential wavelengths (1064 nm and 532 nm) can effectively treat and remove most tattoo ink colors, including black, violet, red, orange, brown, and yellow, and deliver the safest treatments for all skin types I-VI.

Furthermore, the Duality features a homogeneous beam profile and square spot beam for maximum precision and reduced treatment overlap. These characteristics are ideal for safer treatment application, minimal risk of thermal injury, and other unwanted side effects–especially for darker skin types.

“The Vintage Tattoo Shoppe team is a great bunch of talented artists that are passionate about exceeding their clients’ needs,” said Josh Walsh, Astanza Business Development Manager. “Their addition of the Duality is going to take their business to the next level, and we are so excited to be a part of this next chapter for them.”

The Natural Tattoo Fading Process

Despite their permanent design, tattoos naturally lose color over time. Your immune system immediately tries to remove the foreign ink particles when a needle deposits ink into your skin’s dermis. This inherent immune process explains why tattoos gradually fade over many years.

So why are tattoos permanent? When a tattoo is applied, ink particles are inserted in the skin’s dermis, the deepest layer below the epidermis. Once the ink is embedded, your immune system is triggered and sends bacteria-eating cells to remove the foreign ink particles naturally through your lymphatic system. However, the strategic placement of the ink particles in the skin’s dermis layer and their large size make it very difficult for the tiny cells to absorb and remove the ink entirely. Instead, the bacteria-eating cells continuously scrape away small ink fragments over an entire lifetime, causing your tattoo to fade while remaining permanently fixed in your skin.

How Laser Tattoo Removal Works

Laser tattoo removal works by speeding up the natural fading process by breaking down the large ink particles into nanoparticles that your body can easily absorb and flush away. Our Astanza Duality laser uses advanced Q-switching technology to safely penetrate the skin, selectively target unwanted ink, and shatter the ink quickly and efficiently without damaging any surrounding tissue.

During a treatment, the laser emits ultra-quick pulses of light energy into the skin. The ink particles selectively absorb the wavelengths of light energy, causing them to heat up and shatter into tiny fragments. This process is repeated over multiple treatments; each session targets the shallowest layer until no ink is visible on the skin.

On average, most customers require a minimum of 5 to 10 treatments for complete removal. Customers interested in altering their tattoo for a cover-up can receive laser tattoo removal fading within 2 to 5 treatments. The number of treatments is unique for every client and is calculated using a variety of factors, including the tattoo’s age, location, size, density, skin type, individual health, and more.

Fading for Cover-Ups

Laser tattoo removal is often used as a reparative tool rather than an eraser. Tattoo artists worldwide use laser tattoo removal for clients interested in getting a cover-up tattoo. In most cases, cover-up tattoos are limited in their design, size, and ink colors due to the pre-existing artwork. To continue delivering the best artwork, our studio uses laser technology to lighten an unwanted tattoo to create a cleaner canvas for our tattoo artists to work on.

Tattoo fading gives our artists more flexibility with their work and gives you more creativity and options for your cover-up tattoo. Instead of limiting your tattoo cover-up, we can lighten your tattoo and work in various design elements, colors, and dimensions to give you a tattoo you’re thrilled to wear.
